Personal History Allison was born into a family of Doctors spanning five generations. It was pretty much destiny that either she, or her brother Daniel, would continue that medical legacy. While Daniel decided to pursue a career in public administration the pressure was on Hillary to follow in her parents, not to mention grand and great grand parents ect, footsteps and take up the call of medicine.

Allison's early life in North Carolina was rather uneventful. Her parents, both Doctors, kept Hillary protected more so than her older brother. This led to some resentment growing up but nothing that really has hurt her relationship with her parents. Her parents were supportive of her career in medicine but not so much of her decision to join Starfleet. While her family had history in Starfleet previously, most notably Doctor Emily Hopper (Née Hillard) her Great Grandmother, it wasn't what her parents had expected of her after her graduation from Stanford University.

She found medicine to be an extremely rewarding challenge and was enjoying the high class education that the Medical Academy offered her. After a couple years of study the Dominion War broke out and sent Starfleet into a panic. Upon heavy initial losses Starfleet needed to find ways to replenish its crew roster and started to recruit Cadets from its Academies to step in for on the job training. Allison was quickly placed on the USS Charleston, an Excelsior Class Starship, and pretty much thrown to the wolves.

Practicing medicine on the front lines gave Allison an education she wouldn't have received in the classroom. While incredibly stressful for someone so new, she couldn't think about the situation and simply had to act and learn as she dealt with the massive amounts of casualties. While many of her former classmates started to buckle under the pressure she thrived.

After the end of the War she was promoted and given the assignment of Assistant Chief Medical Officer aboard the aging Ambassador Class Starship Excalibur. With the pressures of War a memory she was able to concentrate more on actual medical research publishing two articles in two of the more respected Medical Journals in the Federation.

After 3 years Starfleet decided to give her a chance to run her own medical department and promoted her Chief Medical Officer of the Mercury.
