Her colleagues think she is brilliant but mad. | |

When Federation stretched further and further to the edges of the Alpha Quadrant, interstellar law and its relationship to planetary law was partly shaped by the decisions of father's family. |
Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Eddy usually gets along with most people. Others often describe him as friendly and easy-going person but criticize that he doesn't stand up for himself. This is certainly true. When he is challenged, Eddy displays a non-confrontational character and tries to please. However, if he sees injustice done to others, his character can suddenly switch to a more assertive style with strong arguments couched in diplomatic language. In his quest to defend others he is brave, but some may see him as a coward for not standing up for himself. |
|
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Eddy has both a good memory and a sharp intellect, but he does not believe that he possesse these qualities. That's the cause for his unecessarily subconsiouss and insecure style. To hide his insecurity, he is rather controlled at work. This increases the precision of his work but decreases his efficiency. What Eddy possesses in intellectual prowess, he lacks in physical ability. He is neither athletic, nor strong. Above all he is clumsy. He is renowned for when he is lost in thought that he even forgets to open manual doors and the resulting pain does not seem to teach him a lesson. |
|
| Ambitions | Although Eddie accepts the necessity military operations, he is keen on exploration. Eddie wants to visit as many worlds as possible, to explore their cutlures and laws. He doesn't seem to be very interested in advancing his rank or standing in Starfleet, he seems driven towards "something" he believes to find in the study of other cutlures. A starship, traversing the void between stars, offers more opportunity to conduct his resaerch than any planet could, which imprisoned on a reptetive journey around only one star. |

| Personal History | Eddie studied law and philsosophy at Christ's College, Cambridge. After his admittance to the bar, he followed in his mother's and father's footsteps. He became a interstellar lawyer. As he had unconventional ideas, he usually counselled the difficult cases, like the Voyager's doctors claim for sentient rights. Cases like these drew publicity and helped him to develop an good reputation. Three years ago, he was offered a position as a fellow at Christ's college. As this has often been a stepping stone to becoming a judge in the highest courts of the Federation, his father was filled with pride. Being the only one of his sibling to continue the family tradition, Eddie knew full well the pain it will cause to his father, when he turned down the postion. They haven't spoken for the last three years. Instead Eddie got additonal training at Starfleet academy and is now on route to his first assignment to the USS Mercury, where he'll serve as anthropologist. No one, but Eddie, know the reasons for this sudden career change. Could Eddie no longer bear the heavy responsibility of family tradition? Was it a late act of rebellion against his parents and a need to follow his own way? Or is there a hidden reason? |

| Service Record | With the age 22, Eddie became a counsel in the Starfleet diplomatic corps and has worked for the corps as a civilian for about 14 years. As a civilian he did not advance in rank. However, when he decided to get formal training at Starfleet Academy, he was offered a short route for the recoginition of his long standing record of service to the Starfleet corps. As an athropologist, he is an unkown variable. Proficiency in one field does not translate into excellence in another. Only time will tell how is service record as a anthropologist will develop... |
