General Overview		Tries hard (but not obviously "too hard"" ) to maintain an attitude of cheer and well being, but slips into a deadpan calm when out of concentration, or when focused on his work.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Brilliant scientist and researcher, creative as well as analytical, friendly and personable but can slip into a detached asocial state. Crippled by betazoid standards with very little if any psychic talent of any kind. Sometimes doesn't see people as real, and sometimes feels lots of things are real people, but keeps both feelings under his hat.

Personal History		Born in the lowest class of Betazoid society, Enar Doba was found to have very little psychic talent. Grew up with people thinking of him as deficient and retarded, he turned out to have a brilliant mind. Family moved off Betazed early in his life after he was snubbed for genetic bonding. Parents found work on a starbase world nearer the core planets Tellar, Earth, Andor and Vulcan. Among non psionic people, Enar bloomed into a bright kid. By the time he was nineteen, he was put up to go to Starfleet Academy by the commandant of the base. There, with all the various courses, he gravitated towards the sciences but graduated well rounded. He had a long unremarkable career marked by good hard work, though nothing showed him out to be anything for command rank or assignment. Then there was war. In one of the later battles against the Breen reinforced Dominion, the ship he was on, an older science vessel, took several severe hits and a lot of casualties leaving him, a mere Lieutenant in command of the boat. He did well enough in the tough situation that he was promoted and sent to command school during his recovery from minor injuries sustained in the campaign. He finished school just in time for the end of the war. He served in various laboratories in research and administration roles until he was chosen to head the science department on the Mercury, a post in which he has served quietly till now, filing reports on time and in proper form.
